Should the kitchen and bathroom be done together?
If both need work, planning services, materials and sequencing together can clarify the full scope. Whether they are built at the same time depends on living arrangements and budget.
Does an apartment renovation need strata approval?
It depends on the work. NSW distinguishes cosmetic, minor and major renovations. Kitchens, bathrooms, floors, walls and waterproofing may require different approvals. Check the scheme's by-laws first.
Does a house renovation always need council approval?
No. The work and property conditions determine whether development consent or a CDC is needed. Check the NSW Planning Portal and confirm with council or a registered certifier.
What should a quote make clear?
It should clearly identify the scope, specified or provisional materials and fixtures, exclusions, payment stages and how changes are agreed.
Can we live at home during the work?
